Marae

At the Marae

I could not belive it. On the 14th of October Newmarket school went to Orakei Marae. Before I knew it I was on the bus. When I got to the Marae I gasped because the sculptures looked impressive.
We waited outside the Marae for the call.


Then we took our shoes off and stepped into the wharenui. There were lots of carved sculptures and we sat down quietly. There was a man talking. After he had finished talking it was morning tea. We got an apple and a biscuit.


Then it was home time. So we boarded on the bus and went back to Newmarket school.
